Voice Loading Test (Voice Strain Test)
A basic precondition for the
choice of voice and speech professions is the suitability of an
individual for voice demands. The lingWAVES Vocal Loading Test module
offers automated real-time data processing during the test run. The
test is based on recommendations formulated to standardize procedures in
the measurement of vocal load. The test parameters including required
level of vocal loading, test duration and voice intensity can be set
freely by an examiner. When the test is finished, an extensive statistic
report provides information on the patient's vocal ability.
The lingWAVES Vocal Loading Test module is a
software component of the lingWAVES Voice Diagnostic Center (VDC), enabling you to
test the predisposition of speech professionals to vocal fatigue
(worsening of the voice with prolonged usage). During the test, a text
is read aloud under different levels of vocal loading. Continuously
updating intensity and fundamental frequency estimates of the voice are
immediately measured and displayed during the test run. The lingWAVES
Vocal Loading Test module can be optionally added to the lingWAVES
Phonetogram Plus software package.
